Acht Brücken - International Composition Competition

In the framework of the next festival ACHT BRÜCKEN | Musik für Köln (EIGHT BRIDGES | Music for Cologne), the composition competition will take place for the eleventh time in 2023.

Composers under the age of 35 are invited to submit a work for ensemble.

Permitted are works for ensemble (instrumentation as follows: violin, viola, violoncello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, percussion, piano, guitar | with conductor) with a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

A recording of the concert by WDR for radio broadcast is planned. The winners will be selected by a jury and will be rewarded with a total budget of € 9,000. Furthermore ACHT BRÜCKEN awards a composition commission to the winner of the first prize for one of the upcoming festival editions.
