Workshops for performers - Festival Mixtur

Festival Mixtur, new sound creation festival of Barcelona, in collaboration with Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, is doing an open call to enroll in the Workshop for Performers Mixtur 2022.

The Workshop for Performers Mixtur 2022 is aimed at students as well as professional performers, with no age or nationality limit, with interest in the interpretation of current repertoire.

This edition teaching team will be composed by:
- Percussion workshop with Christian Dierstein
- Piano workshop with Nicolas Hodges
- Saxophone workshop with Marcus Weiss

The workshop will take place from October 6 to October 9 and will include the following activities:

- One individual class.
- One Master class from each instrument open to all the workshops students.

- Students will work:
A work of free choice of the contemporary repertoire (can be from one of the teachers of the composition workshop).
A miniature piece by a Composition Workshop Student.
The Percussion Workshop will focus on the work of Iannis Xenakis’ Persephassa.

- Participate in the final workshop concert, that is part of the official programme Festival Mixtur 2022, with the pieces worked during the workshop.
- Master class given by Composition and Sound Experimentation Workshop professors Michael Beil, Edith Canat de Chizy and Misato Mochizuki.
