Time of Music Summer Academy - Contemporary Piano course 2023

Time of Music Festival and Summer Academy 2023 will take place on 4-10 of July 2023 in Viitasaari, Finland. Time of Music Summer Academy offers unique opportunities to study contemporary music with the world’s first and foremost composers, pedagogues and musicians in an inspiring environment with colleagues from all around the world.

During the course, young students and professionals have a chance to work with pianist Marilyn Nonken on a wide range of 20 th -century and contemporary piano music. Nonken may be best known for her work with composers of spectral music (Tristan Murail, Hugues Dufourt, Jonathan Harvey), but she is also strongly dedicated to the composers of the New York School (Morton Feldman, Alvin Lucier, John Cage); classics of the 20 th -century repertoire(Schönberg, Ives, Messiaen); and emerging voices. Pianists will have private lessons  as well as group coachings, and the course  ends with a public concert.
