International Call for women composers' scores
This Call is open to women composers of any nationality, without age limit. Each participant may submit one composition for ORCHESTRA AND SOLO INSTRUMENT with the following score as maximum: 2 (2° also piccolo). 2 (2° also eng. horn.). 2 (2° also bass clarinet). 2. – 2.2.2.0. – Tp. Perc. – Harp – Strings [10.8.6.4.3.]
Each composition should be ranged in the duration 8 - 15 minutes.
It is possible to present already performed compositions provided that they are unpublished. The composers must send the score in PDF format to the following e-mail: ufficioprotocollo@consba.it
Together with the score composers need to send:
- General and particular composer’s contact details (name, surname, date of birth, nationality, address, telephone number, e-mail);
- A short biography;
- A copy of a personal identity document;- A signed release to allow public performance (see italian version art. 3).
;The documentation may be written in Italian or English. It is required to include a link to an mp3 recording or simulation. The scores must be sent by 31.10.2026.
A commission will choose compositions in order to get one or a list of works to be included in live performance. The choice will be published on www.consba.it and sent to the composers’email addresses. This commission will be chaired by conductor Giovanni Pelliccia, together with the composers Anna-Karin Klocker, Carmen Fizzarotti, Biagio Putig nano and the pianist Maria Gabriella Bassi,coordinator of this project.
The work/s included in the commission’s list will be called to be performed in 2027 in Bari at Auditorium Nino Rota by “Orchestra del Conservatorio N. Piccinni di Bari” with soloists selected among the excellent students of the Conservatorio. The performed composers will be invited to assist to rehearsal before the performance (staying expenses included). In case of dispute, the only legally binding text is the original Italian lan guage text (Italian version of the General Competition rules) and its juris diction is in Bari.
